The Ramon Canals Cava Museum is the finest private museum in the history of cava in Catalonia.
The museum covers an area of almost 700 m2, and is home to more than 2,500 exhibits from vineyards, wines and cavas, dating from the 4th century B.C. to the 20th century. The collection comprises Greek wine vases, Roman amphorae, flasks for maritime transport, presses with single and dual wooden screws, Murano glass goblets from the mid-nineteenth century, Catalan glass flagons or “porrons” and bottles, microscopes, books on oenology, copper stills and many other tools which show the long tradition of wine-growing in Catalonia.
